FAQs
How much does it cost to rent the Indian River Queen for a private charter?
Private charters are $1,800 per hour underway, with a 3-hour event being the most popular choice at $5,400. Dockside events are available at half the cruising rate — $900 per hour.
Each charter includes a licensed captain, professional crew, and bartenders for our two full-service bars. The Queen accommodates up to 234 passengers, though we recommend a max of 200 for private events to ensure comfort and flow.
We offer full-service catering, bar packages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), and optional add-ons like entertainment, photography, and casino vendors. Our trusted event planners make everything seamless — or you’re welcome to bring your own licensed professionals.
Looking to save with a larger group? If you can guarantee at least 100 guests, we’ll honor our public cruise pricing — including our historic, sunset, brunch, and dinner experiences.
Do you offer public cruises?
Yes, we do! The Indian River Queen hosts a limited number of public cruises each month, including:
• Friday Night Dinner Cruise – 3 hours with live entertainment and a full dinner ($80)
• Sunset Cruise – 1.5-hour evening cruise along the Indian River ($35)
• History Cruise – 1-hour narrated tour highlighting local history ($35)
• Brunch Cruise – 3 hours with live entertainment and catering by The Sugar Aunts ($65)
• Holiday Cruises – St. Paddy’s, 4th of July, December holiday specials, Valentine’s Day, and more ($65–$80)
We don’t operate daily public cruises in order to accommodate private events, so tickets are limited and tend to sell out fast!
Can we bring our own alcohol?
Unfortunately, no. The Indian River Queen holds a Florida state-issued liquor license, so all alcoholic beverages must be purchased onboard.
However, for our sunset and historic cruises only, you're welcome to bring your own food if you'd like to snack during the voyage.
What happens if we have bad weather?
Safety is always our top priority. The captain makes the final call on whether conditions are safe to cruise. Fortunately, weather cancellations are rare — we can often wait out storms dockside and continue the event once conditions improve.
The Queen is well-equipped for rainy days: the Queen’s Room is fully enclosed with A/C, the second deck offers dry cover, and we have roll-down awnings on the sides. We’re always ready to celebrate, even dockside!
In the case of a hurricane or extreme weather, we’ll do our best to reschedule. If that’s not possible, we’ll offer a full credit or refund.
How many people can the Queen hold?
The Indian River Queen is Coast Guard certified to carry up to 234 passengers. However, for private events, we recommend a maximum of 200 guests to ensure everyone stays comfortable — especially in case of rain, when more space may be needed on the enclosed lower decks.
Where do we park?
Indian River Queen patrons may park in the open lot at Cocoa Village Marina only after 5 PM on weekdays and thirty minute before and after cruises on weekends.
For weekday events during business hours, we kindly ask patrons to park in downtown Cocoa Village, just a short walk from the Queen. There’s plenty of free public parking — and it’s a great chance to enjoy the Village’s unique shops, cafés, and restaurants before or after your cruise.
Is the Queen handicap accessible?
The Indian River Queen was built before today’s accessibility standards, but we regularly welcome patrons with limited mobility aboard.
Our crew is happy to assist with boarding via the gangway, and most small wheelchairs can be accommodated with help. However, heavy or electric wheelchairs are not recommended due to the incline and limited access points.
We also suggest bringing a companion for restroom assistance if needed, as onboard facilities may be challenging to navigate alone.
